Craft on tap

The Waterfront River Pub has 20 taps and is proud to serve local Craft Beer as well as some of your more traditional tap favorites.  Craft Beer is brewed in small batches, using only the finest ingredients with no additives, preservatives or pasteurization.  When you drink a hand-crafted or “craft” beer you are enjoying a fresh, natural beer made using time-honoured methods. The focus is on distinctive full-bodied taste and aroma, achieved by using the best ingredients.

Coors Light

Thanks to its yeast, Coors Light is light and refreshing with subtle fruit notes of apple and banana. A pleasant bitterness works its way through the beer’s sweetness, giving balance. 4.2%abv

 Rickard’s Red

The first-ever Rickard’s, this full-flavoured, Irish-style ale boasts a remarkable character. Three roasted malts are carefully blended with a touch of brewer’s caramel for a striking, ruby red appearance and a bold, refreshing taste. 5.2%abv

Alexander Keith’s

Brewed slowly using select malted barley and the finest nugget and zeus hops, Alexander Keith’s India Pale Ale is mildly bitter with subtle notes of black liquorice. 5%abv

Guinness

Mahogany brown with creamy white head; coffee, toasted malt and hops aromas; medium to full body, creamy smooth flavour and a nice touch of bitterness to finish. 4.2%abv

 

Craft Beer

Railway City’s Dead Elephant

A full bodied golden Pale Ale. On the palate the flavour is sweet fruity malts up front (apricot, mango) with a bit of candy, and slight grassy notes which fall away to reveal a hint of biscuit with rather pleasant grapefruit and perfume undertones. This is a hop bomb, there is no doubt. To the nose there is a mild malt aroma which accentuates the robust floral bouquet which is derived from the hops. 6.8%abv

Railway City’s Iron Spike Copper

A decidedly rusty copper pours a thick and frothy cream coloured head. In the nose, caramel malts meet toasty spices. Notes of chestnut here with a nice fruity component leaning towards plum. Tastes of sweet caramel, some butterscotch. A good level of biscuit graininess follows with fruit, some vanilla/rye/spices. Nice hop bite comes mid-palate and lasts. 4.4%abv

Granville Island’s English Bay Pale Ale

This Pale Ale has a smooth, mild flavour brimming with West Coast character and a caramel malt aroma. A true pale ale, it gets its perfect balance from natural carbonation and careful maturing under the watchful eye of our brewmaster. Caramel malt flavour and light hop bitterness, balanced with a dry roasted finish. 5%abv

Waupoos Cider

From Right Here in the County.  Made from late harvest and European cider apples, Waupoos Cider is semi-sweet and sparkling. Perfectly balanced, it offers a lively body, full fruity flavours and refreshing finish. 6.5%abv

Barley Days Loyalist Lager

Crisp and clean, this refreshing Pilsner-style lager is nicely balanced, with a malty-sweet start and slightly bitter finish. Brewed in PrinceEdwardCounty, using only malted barley, hops, yeast and water.   4.5%abv

Beau’s Lug Tread Beau’s Lug Tread

Golden-hued, crisp and finely balanced, a tribute to the classic beer of Cologne, Germany.  Top fermented (like an ale) and then cold aged (like a lager) for a lengthy period. This gives this beer light ale notes complemented by a lager-like crispness. Malt, hop & subtle fruit flavours with a crisp, lingering finish. 5.2%abv

Creemore Springs Lager

Delicious fresh malt aroma; a smooth, clean, textured, lightly nutty body and an elegant balance of hoppy dryness. 5%ab

Muskoka Detour

A left turn from a normal IPA, dry-hopped to create a truly sessionable brew with a rewarding aroma, big hop flavours and clean finish. The result is a perfect way to quench your thirst for the unexpected.

Churchkey Brewing Company’s Holy Smoke

Nose: Sweet malt, fresh coal essences, pleasant peatiness, earthy with sponge candy almost taffy notes.Palate: Creamy, peat, cotton balls with a layer of smoke, initally light tasting and then intensifying, candy apple with building hints of black licorice and over-ripe but scrumptuous dark plums.

MacKinnon Brothers Crosscut Canadian Ale

An amber ale, lightly hopped with a sweet aroma, crisp initial taste and a smooth refreshing finish.  Using Northern Brewer Bittering and Czech Sazz Aroma hops, Canadian and UK malts and wheat from their Bath farm, it’s a crisp clean foam.Grown Locally. Made Locally. Sold Locally.

Muskoka Cream Ale

First brewed in 1996, Muskoka Cream Ale is unmistakable with its rich amber colour and inviting floral tones.  A smooth and easy-going laid-back English pub-style ale with a Cascade hoppiness and fuller body of flavour, it’s a gold-medal winning Canadian Cream Ale. Raise a glass.

Moosehead Breweries’ flagship brand is a golden lager that is light in body and highly refreshing, offering a fine balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Made from an age-old yeast culture, Moosehead Lager is brewed longer to impart its unique flavour.
